Fredrik Bååthe
Fredrik Bååthe, PhD in Medical sciences, is the project leader for the interactive research initiative the IDOQ-study (Interactions between Doctors’ professional fulfillment/satisfaction, Organizational aspects and Quality of care) at the Institute for Studies of the Medical Profession, Oslo, Norway. He is also linked to the Institute of Stress Medicine, Region VGR, Gothenburg, Sweden and associated to the Institute of Health and Caring Sciences, Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Gothenburg, Sweden. He was the head of the Accident & Emergency Department at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, 2004-2009, and worked thereafter at the Regional Health Authorities VGR, Sweden, to facilitate and synchronize improvement initiative at the regions eleven A&E departments. A constituting member of the national taskforce clarifying clinical, juridical and technical demands in order to establish a national quality registry for primary healthcare. Complexity sciences combined with pragmatic social psychology provided theoretical foundation in his qualitative research project about Engaging Physicians’ in organizational improvement work. Original educational background from the Master of Science program in industrial engineering and management with specialization in logistics. Fredrik Bååthe has three boys and is married to a physiotherapist. He enjoys cooking with friends and family. Activities in mountains or in water, as well as playing with their Bernese mountain dog Chappo, are other valued parts of his life.
