Martin Rejler
Martin Rejler is a gastroenterologist working at the Department of Medicine and Geriatrics in Eksjö, Jönköping County, Sweden. In 2012 he fulfilled his PhD in quality improvement and inflammatory bowel disease. In his postdoc VINNVÅRD fellowship Martin has focused on improvement research and its relation to an emerging learning health care system. He has explored the intersection of hospital- and community care as represented by the format of ward rounds, the discharge processes of elderly patients from hospital and the transformation of national quality registers into registry based improvement networks. In his research both qualitative and quantitative methods are represented with a great deal of effort made to include analytic measurement as statistical process charts as well.
Since the dissertation Martin has been on the national board of the Swedish Inflammatory Bowel Disease Registry, SWIBREG. The board has taken strategic decisions to transform the registry into a registry based improvement network to better meet the goals of a knowledge management system evolving within Swedish health care.
